Rangehoods - great range, easy installation. Let Grandview Kitchens help you choose the best rangehood for your kitchen upgrade.

Rangehoods to suit your kitchen
We don't often think about rangehoods - until we have to choose a new one. That's where Grandview Kitchens can help you.

Rangehoods are as important as other appliances, like cooktops and ovens, because they ensure that smoke, steam, grease and pollutants from your cooking are removed from the air. This creates a safer, cleaner environment for your home and everyone in it.

Choosing your new rangehood

Although you don't need to know exactly what sort of rangehood you would like for your new or existing kitchen at your first consultation with Grandview Kitchens, it is a good idea to know a bit about what your requirements are.

To get started, you can check out the rangehood examples on this page, or view our kitchen gallery to gather some ideas about style. A rangehood should suit the style of your kitchen (whether a new design or existing fittings) and, importantly, must fit your cooktop.

Types of rangehoods

When choosing your rangehood, there are three main types:

  • Fixed rangehoods - Fixed rangehoods are the most common household rangehoods. They're inexpensive, easy to install and cover the whole area of the cooktop.
  • Retractable rangehoods - Retractable rangehoods suit smaller spaces, like apartments or units, and minimalist designs. You pull out the rangehood when cooking and retract when it's not in use.
  • Canopy rangehoods - Until recently, canopy rangehoods were most common in commercial kitchens. However, they are becoming more common in the home due to their efficiency and trendy look.

You also need to decide if your rangehood will be ducted or recirculating. Ducted rangehoods vent to outside of the home, while recirculating rangehoods clean the air through filters and vent it back into the room. Ducted rangehoods are slightly more efficient, but recirculating rangehoods are ideal for smaller spaces or where it's not possible to vent outside - for example, in an apartment or unit.

All types of rangehoods need to be installed by an expert - and that's where Grandview Kitchens comes in. We coordinate your rangehood installation by qualified tradespeople - meaning less hassle for you.
